Jersey’s logistics infrastructure
In addition to everything else that Jersey has to offer an ambitious e-business, due to the close proximity to the UK and mainland Europe we are able to take advantage of fast and efficient international distribution links allowing cost effective delivery to all e-retail consumers.  This distribution infrastructure currently supports over 100 online and catalogue trading companies collectively sending over 50 million packets a year with everything from potatoes to memory products and contact lenses to flowers.

This geographical and political position affords Jersey a number of strategic advantages when it comes to business opportunities. The fact that Jersey is not a full member of the EU means that by choosing to create your "tax footprint" here, your e-business can enjoy Jersey’s favourable corporation tax regime as well as certain other tax benefits, offering the opportunity for better margins and competitive advantage.

J logistics - the distribution partner
Key to this distribution infrastructure is the logistics arm of Jersey Post – J logistics. J logistics provides a dedicated distribution operation for the “e-trading” industry on the Island and enables companies to achieve a cost effective 2 to 3 day postal delivery service to all UK addresses and a 3 to 5 day service to mainland Europe. 

To enable this, J logistics has a tri party agreement between itself, UK Revenue and Customs and Jersey Customs. This enables ‘fast-tracking’ of deliveries into the UK by ensuring any VAT that is due is collected in advance. This removes the inconvenience, expense and delay of a doorstep tax collection.  Jersey Post also offers full customs clearance and tax prepayment for goods going to mainland Europe. In addition to this J logistics has a full range of distribution services:
