23.12.11 - Final Christmas Delivery
Our post men and women are gearing up for the last of the pre-Christmas deliveries.
So far this month, postal workers have battled with torrential rain, hail and gale force winds to get as many cards, presents and parcels delivered in time for Christmas. Staff have worked very hard to process and deliver items ahead of the big day, and the sorting office at Rue des Pres is now awaiting the final shipments of mail to arrive later today and tomorrow morning.
All items that are received in these shipments will be processed and sent out for delivery tomorrow – Christmas Eve – so if you’re still waiting for something from the UK or further afield, Jersey Post will do everything they can to deliver it to you tomorrow.
Staff at Commercial Street parcel counter are working just as hard reuniting over 1,000 customers a day with their packets and parcels, but there are still over 1,400 items waiting to be collected.
If anyone still needs to collect an item from Commercial Street, the counter will be open as follows:
- Friday 23 December – until 19:00
- Christmas Eve – 08:00 – 16:00
The counter will be closed from 25 December to 27 December, but will reopen at 09:00 on Wednesday 28 December when normal opening hours will recommence.
To avoid any disappointment, please remember that if you’re collecting an item you will need:
- The Jersey Post card that was put through your door;
- Your own photographic identification – passport or driving licence:
- And if collecting on behalf of someone, you will also need their photographic ID and their signature on the Jersey Post card authorising you to collect.
If customers have any last minute postal enquiries, our Customer Services team are available on 616616 or by emailing customerservices@jerseypost.com until 17:30 tonight, Friday 23 December, and from 08:30 until 16:00 tomorrow, Christmas Eve.
