11.08.10 - Suspicious package 

Following the discovery of a suspicious package this afternoon at Jersey Post’s Broad Street Post Office, the package was not found to be harmful. 

Jersey Post quickly invoked its emergency procedures and the Island’s emergency services were called to the scene.

Shortly after 3pm, the suspicious package was found not to be harmful and staff were allowed to return to both the Broad Street and Commericial Street buildings.

The public is advised that counter services at Broad Street and parcel collections from Commercial Street are now available as normal.
