Surcharges
Occasionally, insufficient postage is applied when posting items. In order to ensure that the cost of putting the item through the postal system is covered, a surcharge is required. Customers who receive the mail will then need to pay the additional postage at the point of delivery.
Our postmen will take all items out with them on their delivery rounds. If the recipient is at home, the postman can collect the money due and hand over the item. Should the recipient be unavailable to pay the surcharge fee, the postman will leave an attempt at delivery card which will explain to the customer the amount of money that is required and that their item is awaiting collection at Commercial Street.
If picking up an item from Commercial Street is inconvenient, we can arrange a re delivery to better suit you. Just call our Customer Services department on 616616, where one of our Customer Service Agents will happily help you with your request.
If the item is not collected or re delivered within 21 days of the initial delivery attempt, it will be sent back to the senders address, or country of origin. If the item was sent from Jersey, our customer services department will hold the item for a further 21 days. Any unclaimed items after this time period will be destroyed.
