18.11.10 - Parcel Scam
It has been brought to the attention of Jersey Post that a scam is currently operating in the UK and could end up affecting customers locally. This scam has been confirmed by Royal Mail and the Trading Standards Office.
The scam is that a card is posted through the door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that the householder needs to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number) to rearrange delivery.
Customers should
not call this number, as this believed to be fraudulent activity originating from Belize.
If you do receive a card with these details, please contact the Royal Mail Fraud team on 020 7239 6655.
