Jersey Post Group strengthen UK presence

Posted • 18 October 2018

Jersey Post Group has today announced the appointment of Paul Scratchley to the role of UK Sales Director. This appointment is set to strengthen the Jersey Post Group UK presence, tying together the existing infrastructure that the group has acquired over the past two years in both the UK, and further afield.

In 2016 Jersey Post purchased Fraser Freight, a UK based European logistics provider located in Portsmouth and HICS Worldwide, a customs clearance agent located at Heathrow. In 2017, Jersey Post continued to implement its strategy to exploit opportunities outside the finite local market by investing in Parcel Monkey an experienced, holistic parcel delivery service enabler and provider.

The organisation also benefits from global reach through investments in distribution and logistics companies based in Estonia, Miami, Hong Kong and more recently Australia. The appointment of Paul will focus on building a range of Channel Island delivery solutions for those UK based retailers, e-tailers and carriers who do not currently send to the islands, or who use another third party or intermediary.

Tim Brown, Jersey Post Chief Executive said, “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the Jersey Post Group. Paul brings over 28 years of industry knowledge and relationships that will support our primary objective for off-island growth, opening up the Channel Islands to a wider range of retailers that are currently unable to establish a delivery solution to reach this group of online shoppers.”

Paul boasts an impressive industry CV which saw him successfully promoted through roles at City Link, most notably where he was Head of Strategic Sales. Paul's more recent experience includes Commercial Director at CollectPlus, then Chief Commercial Officer first at Swishd and then at Gophr where he still retains an interest.”

About his appointment, Paul stated, “"Jersey Post is an amazing business, looking after its responsibilities as a postal authority to the people of Jersey, but at the same time, divesting into a global network to support the growing global online community, offering delivery solutions to match the requirements and needs of retailers, but as importantly, the needs of their customers too. I'm excited at the challenge ahead and look forward to working with major UK retailers to offer their products and services to the 160,000+ people of the Channel Islands, as well as the global retail community in their continued search for new and emerging markets."

Paul was appointed to his role on 1 October and will be based in the UK. He can be contacted by email paul.scratchley@jerseypost.com
