Don’t delay with Christmas posting

Posted • 08 November 2021

Whether ordering online or posting gifts and cards to family and friends, Jersey Post is continuing to encourage Islanders to prepare for Christmas early.

So far this year, Jersey Post has processed and delivered 3.6 million parcels locally, which is a 5% increase on last year. Heading into Christmas peak, volumes are expected to further rise, with a 35% increase in parcels anticipated during the last few months of the year.

Niall McClure, Jersey Post’s Managing Director for Post and Logistics, says, “With volumes set to soar over the festive period, we’re anticipating yet another busy Christmas. We have put operational measures in place to ensure that our on-Island delivery service will manage with the increase. The good news is we now have three quarters of the Island signed up to our SecureDrop service, which helps us clear parcels quicker as we can usually deliver on the first attempt to these households.”

Recommended last posting dates

Jersey Post is recommending that international items are sent well in advance as although outbound items are leaving Jersey on time, there are disruptions further down the supply chain causing delays to items arriving at their destination.
