With Christmas just around the corner, here you’ll find all the information you need on post office opening times, last posting dates, postage prices and promotions for 2022.

To ensure items stand the best chance of arriving on time, Islanders are encouraged to do their online shopping as early as possible and to post items with plenty of time using our tracked and signed or FedEx courier service.

Customs requirements: please note that anyone sending parcels off-island must provide electronic pre-advice customs information (EAD). This includes information on the sender, the recipient, and the details of the contents within the parcel. Please click here for more information on EAD. 

Reduced Christmas Posting Rates

To help you keep in touch with family and friends during the festive period, Christmas themed stamps will be on sale at reduced prices for card and letter-sized items from Monday 14 November until Friday 25 November 2022* at all post offices.

Broad Street and Rue Des Pres post office and parcel collection will be open at the following times between 21 November and 3 January 2023.

Please note we are not open on Public or Bank Holidays, so we will be closed on the 26, 27 December and 2 January 2023. Normal opening hours resume from 3 January 2023.

Customers are advised to collect their items promptly from our Rue des Pres parcel collection depot to avoid items being returned to sender. Please note we are not open on Public or Bank Holidays, so we will be closed on the 26, 27 December and 2 January 2023. Normal opening hours resume from 3 January 2023.

Please make a note of our business collection times during the Christmas period. If you wish to post mail on the dates we are not collecting, you can do so by visiting our Broad Street and Rue des Pres post offices before 3pm.

There continues to be significant delays to a number of countries right now due to a lack of available transport links and suspension of certain country’s postal operations. Due to rapidly changing embargoes and surcharges worldwide, customers may be advised that mail cannot be accepted or that there is a surcharge to send mail to certain countries. The situation is changing weekly and, hopefully, will improve as air freight and other restrictions are lifted.

Customers sending mail should consider using our ‘tracked and signed’ services as this will stand the best chance of a delivery attempt during this period of extraordinary measures. 

Unfortunately, due to the disruption caused to the global mail service by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to offer compensation for lost or delayed items.  Postal operators and delivery transport networks around the world have been negatively impacted, with many unable to guarantee their delivery standards. As a result of these disruptions, Jersey Post ceased offering compensation for any items posted after 18 March 2020.
