What will future postal services in Jersey look like?

Jersey Post undertakes extensive research to inform decisions

Starting today and running over the next eight weeks, Jersey Post is undertaking two significant market research pieces that will help review the current service provision and inform the shape of future postal services. Islanders and businesses are being encouraged to get involved and have their say.

“We have seen a huge change in how we live our lives, personally and in business over the past 48 months,” explains Jersey Post’s Chief Executive, Tim Brown. “As well as hearing the thoughts of Islanders on how we are performing as a business, through our all-island household survey, we are also launching a more detailed follow up telephone survey that will delve more deeply into what our customers need from their postal service. The findings of both pieces of work will be invaluable in helping benchmark our ongoing performance and highlighting where our priorities should be to develop a leading postal service that meets future needs”.

Household Survey

From today, Monday 21 February, all households will receive their annual customer survey through the post, asking for feedback on the postal service and its products and services over the past 12 months. The survey only takes ten minutes to complete and those who would prefer to complete it online can click here. The survey closes on Friday 11 March 2022. Anyone completing the survey has the option to be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £100 foreign exchange vouchers.

Future Needs Surveys

From Monday 28 February, Jersey Post will commence a more detailed telephone survey with randomly selected individuals and businesses. The survey findings will help inform the strategic direction of Jersey Post, future service provision and will contribute to the JCRA’s postal review taking place this year. Through telephone interviews with 300 individuals and 150 businesses, greater insight will be provided for:

  • Current postal habits and attitudes around sending and receiving mail
  • Perception of Jersey Post
  • Consumer and business ecommerce needs
  • Customer priorities for future postal services
  • Sustainability and environmental considerations
  • Likely future behaviour trends

Those who aren’t contacted by telephone to take part in the more in-depth survey will have the opportunity to complete it from Monday 14 March when the survey opens online. It is anticipated that the survey will take 15 minutes to complete, and all responses are warmly welcomed by the Jersey Post team.
