Jersey Post Invites Islanders to Celebrate World Postcard Day

Posted • 29 September 2021

The 1 October 2021 is officially World Postcard Day, and, to mark the occasion Jersey Post will be launching a local initiative encouraging Islanders to share their words of wisdom.

Jersey Post invites Islanders to share the best piece of advice they have ever been given by completing a Wise Words postcard, with the aim of spreading goodwill within the community. Jersey Post’s Broad Street Post Office will host a Wise Words zone from 1 – 9 October, where Islanders can fill in a postcard with a positive message that they would like to share. They can then post their postcard on the Wise Words board to allow others to learn from their advice. Jersey Post is also partnering with local online marketplace Fetch for this initiative and the three best Wise Words entries will win a £30 voucher to spend on

At the end of the campaign, the completed postcards will be available for one week for any Islanders to take and keep or post to someone they think could benefit from some words of wisdom. Simply pop into Broad Street post office and pick one up for free and pass it on.

Sonia Ferri, Senior Marketing Manager at Jersey Post said “This initiative is a bit of fun, and we hope Islanders will share their words of wisdom in this unique way. We want the Island community to spread positive and meaningful messages as it’s always lovely to read a handwritten note in today’s digital world. I would encourage anyone who has an inspirational message to put pen to paper and spread the joy. You never know you could put a smile on someone’s face or even make their day.”

World Postcard Day is celebrated every year on the anniversary of the postcard, as a reminder of the happiness that postcards can bring. For further information on World Postcard Day please visit:
